WakeMed to renovate Cameron Village post office and move in by 2020

In a joint press release, WakeMed and York Properties announced their intention of bringing the health care provider to Cameron Village by mid-2020. An old post office building at 505 Oberlin Road will be renovated into a state-of-the-art medical facility serving the popular Raleigh neighborhood.

The release said the WakeMed location would offer urgent care, primary care and other outpatient services.

“Our presence into this area aligns with WakeMed’s mission and our commitment to bring accessible health care resources close to home,” commented Tom Cavender, vice president of Facilities & Construction for WakeMed Health & Hospitals. “A Raleigh landmark, Cameron Village is a great example of a neighborhood transitioning to a walkable community, where essential services including schools, offices, shopping, parks, public transportation – and now health care – will be readily available. We look forward to serving as the area’s cornerstone health care provider and bringing exceptional care and services to a convenient location that will benefit patients and families for years to come.”

“WakeMed is an exciting addition to the Cameron Village neighborhood,” added George York, president and CEO of York Properties, Inc. “We strive to make the Village a truly complete community serving all our residents and customers.”
